About Me
"Old World Leather Company" is a reflection of my Mennonite roots and travels. I have worked and lived in different states over the years in post and wood frame construction, iron work, automotive mirror factory, cabinetry, and farming, experiencing different cultures and perspectives. My left leg was amputated at the age of 2 due to a lawnmower accident. It's not a big deal, I've had this nearly my whole life and I'm used to it. What is a big deal, is my prosthetic leg falling off a roof because of an expensive garbage quality strap. You can believe I avoid most roofs these days but my first leather project was making my own strap. I fell in love with the leather business. I am fortunate to be friends with multiple leather craftsmen in the area, so I worked nights, my days off, and even full time here and there for the past 10 years. Because of my experiences and everyone here at "Old World Leather Company", every bag, belt, and accessory tells a unique story, crafted from genuine leather of the highest quality, and made to last a lifetime.
Our Beginning
My wife and I wanted to start the "Old World Leather Company" as business in Tennessee that we can involve our two children in as family time is a big deal for us. With my previous experience in leather crafting thousands of holsters, belts and straps of different types for various suppliers, I saw a need. We had many local talented old school craftsman who needed greater market access while you, my hardworking friend, had to suffer with a sub par product. Well my friend, that is the case no more!!!
